Apr. 23rd, 2006 10:46 pmQuiet weekend. Yesterday
gismonda took me to Maria's Cafe, which I'd never been to before, despite going past it every time I drive to work. It was perfectly excellent. Then we went to the Electric Fetus, where I scored the second season of Futurama and a couple of CDs from the used section. I was pleased--it's nigh-impossible to find used copies of the Futurama DVDs.
After getting annoyed with the crowd at Electric Fetus, I realized it was going to be a Garbo Day, so we came home to avoid dealing with any more people. I returned some library books and walked around the neighborhood. The walk didn't really improve my mood, so I put on my iPod and did some cleaning. That helped. (Improving your mood by cleaning. I think this is how obsessive-compulsives get started.) I made a quick run to Target later on in the evening, but otherwise stayed home, watched Saturday Night Live, and played a little Eternal Darkness.
Today I ran out to Costco, went to Ridgedale since I was in the neighborhood (and sampled some 4711 cologne. Observation: It faded to nothing before I even got home), then made a quick stop at CompUSA for a new mouse.
I think I might be in the market for a new Mac. Costco had a Mac mini in a bundle with a mouse, keyboard, and some software, but it was a G4. They also had a 20" iMac, but it was a G5; CompUSA has iMacs in an almost identical configuration but with the new Intel processors for only $200 more. Ordinarily I don't mind being a generation behind, but if the difference is only two bills, I may just go for it.
Note: This does not mean I'll be getting sucked into World Of Warcraft anytime soon, so put that idea right out of your head.
