The poor demented honky.
Apr. 25th, 2006 11:10 pmI kinda slacked off on my guitar practice for about thre weeks, there. Oops. I started again tonight, and in the process discovered that what little callus I managed to develop has been lost. But it's a good pain.
I bought a metronome just before I started slacking, and it led me to discover a bigger problem than lack of calluses: lack of rhythm. I have really gotten bad. I always managed to do OK when I was in the junior high band, and later on when I studied hand drumming, I had gotten to a pretty good place. But now, it seems to have abandoned me.
I guess that's one more thing to add to the list of skills I need to re-acquire, along with parallel parking, yo-yo tricks, and the minimal competencies I need to be able to work in my field.
