A. Pick 16 of your favorite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is.
E. Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser’s username directly after the quote.

Update: OK, it's been a good 24 hours. I'm closing the polls on this one. I've filled in the answers for the few that nobody guessed. I hope seeing this list of my favorite quotes from my favorite movies has taught you...stuff...about...me.

1. "Then you're gonna go off and rule the universe from beyond the grave."
"INDEED!"

Not necessarily a Carpenter fan...but BTiLC has got to be one of the most easily quotable movies ever. And "They Live" is just great fun. The shining star of Roddy Piper's career.

I once used the "watermelon" line in my own quote quiz. Nobody got it.

Ditto! Although #10 seems really familiar, but I just can't place it without cheating and googling.

I spy a Zorro quote. Also am bummed to not see "yammy in Santa's handbag" on here.

And number 4 is from the Illusionist! And the Grant's tomb line sounds like a Nick and Nora bit but I'm not sure which film. The Thin Man?

You are correct on all counts!

I thought about including the "Santa just yammied in your handbag" line, but the movie it's from wasn't one of my favorites. In fact, it kinda sucked. Although that particular line was delivered by the redoubtable Kathleen Freeman (http://imdb.com/name/nm0293466/).

Alfred Molina's performance is one of my all-time favorite performances in all of film. Seriously.

And I must say, today could have gone better.

YES. He was my favorite in this flick. Reminded me of a good friend, actually. Other than the craziness and the giant robotic limbs...

Alfred Molina has long been one of my favorite character actors. When I heard he was going to play Dr. Octopus, I anticipated great things. He exceeded my expectations.
