List Of People I'd Like To Bring Home, Seat At The Kitchen Table Such That Their Feet Don't Touch The Ground, And Feed Cookies (non-inclusive)

  1. Patton Oswalt

  2. Kaki King

  3. Sarah Vowell

We saw the aforementioned Ms. Vowell's reading at the U of M Bookstore this evening. It was every bit as hilarious as I thought it would be. I definitely need to pick up her new book. She went around the country to sites connected with the assassinations of Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, and McKinley basically as a vacation. What's not to like about that?

In the book (and this is one of the sections she read), she mentions the Oneida Community. Apparently, it started out as a Christian free-love commune, then went into the business of making dinnerware. That bit of knowledge is going to make my next trip to the outlet mall very interesting indeed.

Oh my god. My car broke down in Oneida last year and I had the BEST TIME waiting for it to be fixed (24 hours; had to sleep in it). I asked people about housing prices I liked it so much. If the car didn't end up running I was going to stay there forever.

Hah! I heard Ms. Vowell on the Current last night while driving home.
And then I think I dreamt about her last night, she had a huge headdress/hairpiece kinda thing on, with wicker in it and stuff, almost like a samurai's helmet. And she was lecturing me on something, I don't even remember what.

At that point, does it even matter what she was talking about?
