gismonda and I went to see Le Cirque Rouge De Gus at the Loring Pasta Bar tonight. The show was really pretty good, but the Loring Pasta Bar people really need to get their act together.

My favorite part of the show was an act by a guy who did 3-D silhouettes. He gave 3-D glasses to the audience, set up a white screen upstage, and the performers were backlit by red and blue lights. When they handed out the 3-D glasses, I expected it to be some gag on the audience, but I figured what the hell, I'll be a sport for a change and wear the damn things. They do, in fact, give performers' silhouettes THE EFFECT OF ACTUAL 3-D. I'm not much given to childlike wonderment, but this was the best thing I've seen in a very long time. There's nothing in the world I like more than seeing something totally new. I'm still smiling about it.
