(no subject)

I've always been disappointed that I was never much good at pen-and-ink drawing. For some stupid reason, I can't cross-hatch to save my life. It wouldn't bother me so much, apart from my usual annoyance at not immediately being good at something, but it's one of my favorite media. So on the advice of a friend, I'm going to try to improve my skills. I checked out a couple of books of black-and-white photos and picked up a bambooooooo pen. I'm told that it doesn't take more than a couple of attempts at copying a photo with only one size of nib before you figure out what you're doing. I'm hoping that this is true.
