Jul. 31st, 2004 01:15 amThe kid just just plain doesn't stand a chance the way he is now. I saw him in Cheapo: Plaid shirt, navy blue khakis, thick black glasses (not the fashionable thick black glasses; these were 1979 vintage if they were a day), and a for God's sake Moe Howard pudding bowl haircut. He was conferring with his mother in lispy, underbitey diction about some soundrack CD he wanted.
I wanted nothing more than to take him aside and say, "No! No! There's another way to be!" Then I remembered who it would be, giving him this advice.
